During this period, people started “noticing.” It started small… just a few comments here or there on posts Chris & I would make on Facebook or Twitter.
Then people started calling us.
Emailing us.
Skyping us.
Texting us.
Sending us love notes in the mail (kidding).
And we found ourselves in a position where we were spending an extreme amount of time teaching people how we were building stuff out.
Systems we were creating.
Ad lessons from paid traffic & paid media.
How we were setting up client fulfillment & management.
Hiring (and firing) secrets for building the team.
Etc.
So in a flash of insight, Chris and I said, “Hey, what if we just wrote down all the stuff we’re showing people… and sent it to everybody at the same time each month?” Thus the “memos” were born. Important side note: some people have asked us, “Why were you even giving people your time to begin with? If you’re so ‘successful’ and all?”
That’s a great question…
Hoarding & defending is not in our DNA.
As soon as the world is emptied of the “false cohorts” and “fake gurus” — people who teach one thing while doing another… as soon as there is no longer a threat of false information being peddled around by JV’s who don’t care about their customers as much as they do their bank statements… as soon as that’s all cleaned up — then maybe we’ll become protective of what we are learning.
Until that day comes, we’re here to clean the waters. And with the “memos,” we’re doing just that.
